Under the sponsorship of the President Kamal El Sharafi, Al-Aqsa University hosted the extended meeting of Palestinian chemists of all Palestinian universities in the Westbank and Gaza Strip; the meeting was held via video conference with the Palestinian Academy for Science and Technology.
The dean of the International Relations Affairs, Dr. Nabil El Aila, welcomed the attendees to the meeting, which seeks to enhance the role of scientific communities and gatherings, as well as encourages the cooperation between researchers and scientists in the field of chemistry.
Dr. Ramy Murjan, coordinator of the meeting in Gaza, expressed in his speech the importance of the event in building connections between the researchers in the universities in Gaza and those in the universities of the West bank, as well as its role in linking chemistry to other sciences and founding new research labs in the future.
For his part, the president of the Palestinian academy of science and technology, Prof. Marwan Aurtani said that scientific gatherings of different fields play a vital role in advancing research and scientific study in Palestinian Universities, referring to the scientific bridges built by the academy, including the Palestinian-German Science bridge and the Palestinian-Quebec Science Bridge, and in the future as planned, the Palestinian-Russian science bridge and Palestinian-French science bridge. These bridges of science enable Palestinian universities to send their researchers for them to obtain their master’s degrees and PhDs.
Lastly, the leading figures of the Chemistry society in the West Bank and Gaza were given awards, five of them professors from the Gaza strip: Prof. Issa Al-Nahhal, Prof. Shehadeh Zo'rob, Prof. Adel Awadallah, Prof. Salman Saadeh, Prof.Khaled Al-Hirthani.
