I'm delighted to welcome you to the website of the Commission on Sustainable
University environment at Al-Aqsa University. In the last years, the global attention has been increased by the concepts of sustainability and the green environment. Sustainability means to use whatever is available from the knowledge and skills for development and exploitation of the local available resources optimally, and reservation the natural resources for the future generation. Al-Aqsa University decided to form a committee of sustainable university environment for sustainable conscious and education. The committee aims to increasing the awareness of the concepts of the university sustainability and green environment. It works to find a campus which takes into account the principles of sustainability and the green environment related to the natural factors, climate and environment. It organizes workshops and a symposiums. In addition, the presence of green buildings in the university also formed a private forums for the sustainable university environment. The commission seeks to work on the rationalization of energy consumption, and support sustainable energy, water conservation and treatment. It aims to increase the green areas at the university, waste recycling to benefit from it, reduce the use and transport, activate the pedestrian traffic, and reduce the car traffic at the university.
