The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences was established in 2010 as a department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences as a part of the developmental plan prepared by the Deanship of the Faculty. After completing the graduation requirements, the graduate obtains a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences with 142 accredited academic hours, spread over four years of study. In addition to basic science laboratories, medical laboratory science laboratories include microbiology, hematology, medical chemistry, immunology labs as well as molecular biology and advanced genetics laboratories. It worth noting that the laboratories of the department are very significant facilities in the University.
