About the Department

The Department of Digital Architecture Engineering is one of the modern departments at Al-Aqsa University. It was established in 2023 to keep pace with the rapid developments in modernity and digital technologies in architecture. The department aims to prepare architects who are capable of using digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the design and construction of smart and sustainable buildings that enhance human comfort and improve the quality of the built environment.

Digital Architecture Engineering does not fundamentally differ from traditional Architecture programs offered in most Arab and international universities. However, it is distinguished by the introduction of several new courses designed to bridge the gap between the traditional concept of architecture and the demands of the global labor market, which increasingly focuses on integrating digital technology into the design and construction process to achieve higher efficiency and quality in the built environment.

Program Objectives

  1. Prepare highly qualified architects capable of competing at the regional and international levels.
  2. Develop students’ design and analytical skills through systematic approaches in design, and enhance their digital and computational abilities to meet contemporary architectural challenges.
  3. Broaden students’ perspectives through collaboration with related fields such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, and remote sensing, enabling them to develop innovative solutions to architectural problems.

Skills Acquired by Graduates

  1. Ability to apply digital technologies in architectural design.
  2. Ability to design and produce smart and sustainable buildings and cities.
  3. Ability to implement safety, security, and remote sensing systems in buildings.
  4. Proficiency in using advanced computer applications for design, project management, facility operation, and building performance analysis.
  5. Capability to prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates, and both general and specific technical specifications for architectural projects.
