The Department of Radio and Television of the Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University has a distinct vision, mission, and objectives that are in line with those of the Faculty:

Vision

  A premier department that trains radio and television students, engages in media production, fosters a spirit of debate and conversation in the context of intellectual plurality and a scientific environment, and prepares students for careers in scientific research and community service.

Mission

Preparing scientific and professional competences and offer an exceptional environment for research and training to stay up with the demands of the labor market and its future directions in the field of radio and television, the production of media content, participation from both domestic and international sources, collaboration with both domestic and international radio stations, and preservation of national identity, and the ethics of media activity.

Objectives

1-Vary the sources of specialized knowledge for students in all areas and fields in order to achieve the encyclopedic culture and knowledge of new journalists.

2-Develop specialization in the field of radio and television at the professional, skill and academic levels, and focus on the practical aspects.

3-Develop the spirit of criticism, evaluation and revision among media professionals through a system of knowledge that students are equipped with in order to grant them cultural immunity to protect society's values and identity and to perpetuate its constants.

4-Improve the capacity of young journalists to think scientifically and logically.

5-Produce various radio and television programs.

6-Examine how communication technology has evolved and how it has affected radio and television broadcasting (shooting, lighting, editing, production, decoration).)

7-Apply communication theories to comprehend the audience's psychological and social responses to radio and television.

8-Criticize dramas, radio and television commercials, documentaries and program content on radio and television.
