Diabetes in Palestine –Reality and challenges was the title of the study day which was organized by the Department of Medical Technology , Faculty of Applied Sciences  at the big conference hall in Gaza  in the presence of the President of the University D. Sallam Al- Agha, the Dean of the Faculty of Science D.  Ali Al-Astal , the head of the Department of Medical Technology D. Nabil  Al-Aila , and a group of specialists of Endocrinology and  Diabetes. In addition to  a number of  academics and administrative staff members, as well as a number of the university students . The study day covered four main axes. The first axis was about diabetes  whereas Dr. Habibi explained generally the nature of the disease.   , wishing health and wellness for our Palestinian society  .In the seconds and third axes, Dr. Al Keshawi and Dr. Naser spoke of the latest development in the treatment of diabetes and clarified the serious complications might affect lungs, kidneys and arteries specially on pregnant women. Dr. Saleh, the Medical chief at the UNRWA, spoke of the reasons behind the spread of diabetes in Palestine pointing out to all efforts exerted by the UNRWA to fight against. At the end of the meeting , the university president distributed appreciation certificates to all participants wishing them success and advancement .
